Dating 1 to 3 months:  Keep it simple, dinner!!!!

Dating 3 to 6 months:  DVD set from favorite director, books on a topic of interest to them (no gossip mag, etc.)

Dating 6 months to 1 year:  Tickets to a sporting event or great concert
